Guiyang's GDP exceeds 83.8b yuan in Q1

During the first quarter of 2020, Guiyang's GDP reached 83.88 billion yuan ($11.82 billion), ranking first among all the cities and prefectures in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The added value of primary industry was 3.18 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4 percent; the added value of secondary industry was 28.68 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.5 percent; and the added value of tertiary industry was 52.02 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.6 percent.

The added value of industries above a designated size - those with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan or above - increased by 4.8 percent. Guiyang has produced 31.96 million face masks in total, which was 1.03 million per day.

Investment in fixed assets decreased by 14.1 percent, while private investment decreased by 3.6 percent, occupying 52.3 percent of total investment.

The total number of tourists decreased by 62.9 percent, tourism revenue decreased by 63.7 percent, passengers travelling by public transportation decreased by 46.9 percent, and the handling capacity of cargo and mail businesses decreased by 15.6 percent.

The consumer price index increased five percent. Of these prices, the prices of food, tobacco and wine increased by 16.4 percent, and the prices of education, culture and entertainment increased by 5.4 percent.

The per capita disposable income of permanent urban residents was 11,262 yuan, with a nominal growth of 1.6 percent. The per capita disposable income of rural permanent residents was 4,312 yuan, with a nominal growth of 4.5 percent.
