Burnaby has been Guiyang's sister city since 2015. It is located in the center of Greater Vancouver and is the third largest city in British Columbia following Vancouver and Surrey. It is the famous centre of commerce and finance. The city covers 90.61 square kilometers and has a population of over 220,000. Burnaby has attractive scenery, and its urban park area is larger than any city in the US. The city also has an extremely developed higher-education with Simon Fraser University (SFU) and British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Burnaby is home to a number of outstanding high-tech, petro-chemical and other heavy industries，for example，the main companies involved are Ballard Power Systems，Chevron and Petro-Canada. Companies such as eBay also have significant facilities in the city.
