Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made great efforts on the comprehensive governance of the Nanming River by upgrading its engineering systems and improving the sewage treatment infrastructure, according to the city's water administration bureau.
It is expected that the river will be capable of treating 235,000 metric tons of sewage a day by the end of this year. Governance on 19 gutter ways will also be improved.
To date, the city has finished the main body construction and equipment installation for seven recycling water plants, implemented 12 domestic wastewater projects in townships, as well as put 16 sewage treatment plants into operation, processing a total of 30.218 tons of sewage water.
In terms of river cleaning and maintenance, the Guiyang water administration bureau has strengthened its fine management. This year, it has accumulatively cleared and transported 1,020 trucks of rubbish in cleaning the waterway, cleared 620 rubbish blocking spots, as well as afforested 400,000 square meters of the river.
