Open data contest starts registration in Guiyang

Registration for the 2019 Guiyang Open Data Innovation Contest started in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 30. All interested teams can sign up at the contest's official website until Nov 20 and compete for the 10,000 yuan ($1,417) prize.

The contest, which is co-sponsored by the Guiyang information industry development center and Guizhou Normal University, aims to provide a platform for big data technicians and university students to showcase big data applications.

The contest will select one first prize, two second prize, and three third prize winners, as well as other awards after the preliminary and final contests.

All participants should be teams made up of a maximum of five people, and design smart product prototypes or solutions involving smart livelihood, environmental protection, transportation, city management or social security based on the open data provided on the Guiyang Open Government Data Platform (http://www.gyopendata.gov.cn).
