During the national day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province received 13.35 million tourists, generating 10.74 billiomn yuan ($1.51 billion) in tourism revenue.
As one of China's top 10 cities most favored by tourists, Guiyang has developed various activities by promoting comprehensive tourism offerings to attract more visitors. According to statistics, the average spending of tourists in Guiyang is 3,644 yuan.
Guiyang's tourism industries characterized by rural and ethnic culture attracts most of its tourists. Longjin village in Huaxi district, which is known for its Bouyei ethnic group characteristics, received 12,000 tourists during the holiday, generating tourism income of 500,000 yuan.
By 2019, Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport's passenger throughput has exceeded 20 million people, and its 206 air routes cover all provincial capitals in China.
Guiyang's tourism industry has grown, with the city now possessing 282 travel agencies, 20 passenger transportation companies, 3,000 tour vehicles, 9,500 tourist guides, and 242,000 people employed in the sector, which are able to provide exemplary services for tourists.
