The first electronic toll collection (ETC) card with the payment function for refueling and tolls in China was issued by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 29.

The Kunlun ETC card is an innovative product, produced with the joint efforts of CNPC and Guizhou Expressway Group Co. The card is expected to relieve traffic congestion and provide diversified services for users.

The card enables the user to quickly go through expressways before toll payments and refuelling at gas stations in China. Users can enjoy a five percent discount on expressway tolls, free value-added services for the first year of use, and 0.15 yuan (2.20 cents) per liter of gas at every CNPC station in Guizhou and Sichuan for the first year.

Users only need to provide their ID cards, driving licenses, as well as their credit or deposit cards to input personal information on their phone to apply for a Kunlun ETC card, which takes less than five minutes to complete.

The Kunlun ETC card will rely on CNPC's 21,000 gas stations and 19,000 convenient stores to expand the functions of parking, car washing, vehicle maintenance, finance, and insurance, which will meet the individualized demands of its users.
