Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, has expanded its materials industry in recent years and continued with industrial reform measures.
The city's material industry has seen marked growth and development. Several high-tech companies, such as Guiyang Vontron Technology Co Ltd and Guizhou Haotian Optoelectronics Technology Co Ltd, have set up headquarters in the city.
Guiyang's production and processing technologies for new material products are relatively advanced domestically. The city has managed to develop several new products with completely independent intellectual property rights, such as new high-strength cast aluminum alloy materials, high-performance polyolefins, and polyvinyl chloride for environmental protection.
Guiyang is currently home to several industrial innovation platforms such as Guiyang National New Materials High-tech Industrialization Base and Kaiyang Phosphorus Coal Chemical (National) Ecological Industrial Demonstration Base.
The city plans to give priority to the development of new energy materials and products, such as advanced metal and alloy materials, special inorganic non-metallic materials including new types of abrasives, refractories, thermal insulation materials, special ceramic materials, carbon materials, halogen-free flame-retardant polyolefin materials and products, high-performance polymer materials and products, new-type polymer fluorides, and high-performance rubber materials and products.
Local government will adopt measures to fund major innovative projects, the creation and application of intellectual property, talent introduction and cultivation, and construction of scientific research and innovation platforms.
