Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport's autonomous shuttle buses have made transfers between terminals faster and more convenient, with the trial service having carried 10,323 passengers as of Oct 13.

During this trial period, which began on Sept 24, passengers could hail a shuttle to stop. In the future, they will also be able to scan an on-site QR code and complete identity verification before boarding independently. The shuttles can accommodate up to six passengers and operate on a continuous loop, departing two minutes after the first passenger boards to keep transfers moving efficiently.

The service runs between Gate 13 at Terminal 2 and Gate 19 at Terminal 3, about 400 meters, and takes only two minutes, compared with 10-minute walking between the terminals.

The service is particularly helpful for passengers transferring between air and metro services, those carrying bulky luggage, older travelers, and families with infants or young children. The shuttles also provide shelter from the sun and rain.
