Guanshanhu Economic Development Zone named national innovation case

Guanshanhu Economic Development Zone has been named a national innovation case in the 2026 list of national innovation practices for high-quality development of industrial parks, making it one of only four parks in Southwest China's Guizhou province to receive the honor and placing it among the country's leading parks.

The nationwide selection process reviewed 66 innovation cases from industrial parks across the country, distilling a set of replicable, scalable practices that address real-world problems –weak core industries, poorly structured corporate tiers, and insufficient coordination across industry chains – to provide a model for parks nationwide as they transform and upgrade.

Since construction began in September 2013, the zone has focused on new energy vehicles, electronic information manufacturing, and eco-friendly specialty food processing, among other key industries.

It is now home to 58 well-known enterprises, 44 of them above designated size – those with annual output value of 20 million yuan or more. The zone has also earned a string of major honors, including provincial-level zero-carbon park and provincial-level industry-academia-research base.

In the core new energy vehicle sector, the zone has pioneered a "chain leader + dedicated task force" model. It maps out the industry chain in precise detail, builds three lists covering enterprises, technologies, and projects, and targets missing and weak links. Leveraging Geely Auto's role as chain leader, it promotes chain-based and business-to-business investment, attracting upstream and downstream suppliers to the area and steadily filling gaps while strengthening the industrial ecosystem.

Beyond industrial support, the zone provides full-cycle services that help enterprises thrive. From factory space and hiring to policy guidance and project applications, dedicated teams follow up throughout the process with targeted assistance, significantly easing businesses' operating burdens.

Notably, the zone also runs a standing platform for industrial innovation and exchange. Every six months, it holds a simple automation innovation competition, encouraging chain leaders to share application scenarios and technical resources, so smaller supplier companies in the zone can exchange ideas, compare notes on technology, and coordinate needs.

Moving forward, the zone will benchmark itself against China's top industrial parks. It will upgrade its service mechanisms and deepen innovation-driven growth, digital-intelligent empowerment, and green transformation, while cultivating new quality productive forces. It will expand and strengthen its new energy vehicle cluster, become a benchmark for high-quality industrial park development across Guizhou, and contribute to the province's new-type industrialization drive.
