The harvest celebration of Gaofeng town in Gui'an New Area opened in the rice fields of Longbao village on Sept 11, with visitors and local villagers gathering to sing and dance in celebration of the autumn harvest.

At the start of the event, Bouyei people in traditional ethnic costumes raised rice wine to welcome visitors with a lively door-blocking welcome ceremony. Melodious welcoming folk songs rose one after another, offering guests who had come from afar a reception steeped in rural charm.

The nearby agricultural specialty market was bustling with people. Local agricultural products such as Longbao rice were neatly displayed, and visitors stopped to taste and sample them. Livestreaming cameras were also aimed at the good products in the fields, promoting Gaofeng's produce both online and offline.

The farming experience area was bustling with activity. Visitors enthusiastically pounded their own glutinous rice cakes and then tasted the results. An egg-picking competition in the forest drew bursts of laughter, while in the rice field fish-catching area, people rolled up their trousers and stepped barefoot into the shallow water. The unique festive atmosphere of the autumn harvest could be felt throughout the event.

Longbao Daba is the core base of grain production in Gaofeng town, with fertile fields and abundant water sources. In recent years, based on the endowment of more than 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of fine farmland at Longbao Daba, the town has actively explored a new path for mountain agriculture development, built high-standard farmland, and achieved simultaneous growth in stable grain production and village collective economy.

In the coming period, the thousand-mu rice fields of Longbao Daba will present boundless autumn scenery and serve as a great place for sightseeing and photo stops. Villages across Gaofeng town will also organize a rich variety of harvest celebration activities tailored to local conditions. Visitors are welcome to Gaofeng town and Longbao village to experience folk customs, browse the market, and take part in farming activities, injecting strong vitality into the rural vitalization of Gui'an.
