Tongcheng Travel released its 2026 Summer Tourism Consumption Review on Aug 27, revealing that Guiyang ranked among the top 10 popular destinations nationwide for "events, entertainment, and tourism".

Throughout the summer, Guiyang hosted multiple large-scale concerts and outdoor ethnic music festivals in succession, with these events driving rapid growth in non-local visitor flows.

A significant number of out-of-town tourists made special trips to Guiyang specifically to attend shows, combining concert viewing, music festival participation, and sightseeing tours of Guizhou's mountainous landscapes. The performance-going crowd boosted hotel and dining consumption around the venues, creating a travel model that integrates "show attendance with summer escape travel".

This summer, Guiyang's performance market presented a packed schedule of high-profile events. On Aug 1, Leon Lai's Robbaba Concert landed at the Guiyang Gymnasium, drawing approximately 12,000 fans who sang along in the mountain breeze and marking the inaugural large-scale solo concert to light up the city's newly completed cultural and sports landmark.

On Aug 8 and 9, Zhou Shen's 2026 "Shenshen's" tour concert was held at the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center for two consecutive nights. Xu Liang's 2026 "Time Folding" tour concert followed, running for three consecutive nights from Aug 21 to 23 at the Guiyang Gymnasium.

Beyond solo concerts, Guiyang's music festivals also generated tremendous buzz over the summer. In July, artists including Lu Han and Mao Buyi performed at the 2026 Gapday Music Fest (Guiyang stop). In August, Accusefive, Cheer Chen, and Chen Li headlined the Guiyang Z Era Galaxy Left Bank Music Festival.

As the "events, entertainment, and tourism" model grows more popular, Guiyang is pioneering a new approach to integrated cultural and tourism development, blending "summer escape + performances + travel". "Cool Guiyang" is steadily emerging as a preferred destination for an increasing number of travelers.
