The 2026 Guizhou-Malaysia Friendship Schools Partnership & Exchange Programme took place on Aug 16 at Guiyang No 3 Middle School in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
During the event, 17 schools from Guizhou province, including Guiyang No 3 Middle School, signed partnership agreements with 17 schools from Malaysia.
The event aims to deepen educational exchange and cooperation between Guizhou and Malaysia, fully utilize the respective resources and distinctive strengths of both sides, jointly improve educational quality and talent cultivation standards, and establish a long-term platform for teaching management seminars, teacher-student exchange visits, and cultural exchange and mutual learning.
It also seeks to promote deep bonding and interaction among young people from both regions and drive coordinated regional educational development, while providing a broad platform for young people from the two sides to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen friendships.
Ye Sen, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, stated that this friendship school initiative has further established a long-term platform for teaching seminars, teacher-student visits, and cultural exchange. He expressed hope that the initiative would serve as an opportunity to deepen pragmatic cooperation, use culture to foster humanistic connections, and leverage innovation to expand collaborative spaces.
Chen Jie, Party branch secretary of Guiyang No 3 Middle School, said that the school would take the launch of the initiative as a new starting point, proactively engage with its partner school, and regularly carry out teaching seminars and other activities.
She emphasized that education and culture would serve as a bridge to deepen exchanges and consolidate cooperation, ensuring lasting friendships between teachers and students from Guizhou and Malaysia, and enabling the two schools to grow together toward shared goals.
