As part of the fifth Guanshanhu Eco Season Series, an exciting animal carnival kicked off on July 11 at the Guanshanhu Ecological Civilization Exhibition Hall in Guiyang. The event will run for 40 days.

Breaking away from the traditional static exhibition format, the carnival focuses on immersive, up-close, interactive experiences. It brings together over 30 species of gentle, human-friendly domesticated animals to create a nature-themed classroom for families – a space where visitors can observe, interact, and learn while discovering the beauty of biodiversity through personal encounters with the animals.

The adorable animal lineup includes internet-famous capybaras, soft and cuddly alpacas, sika deer, ponies, pygmy goats, and pet donkeys. Adding to the visual feast are blue peacocks, white peacocks, and Call ducks. Playful raccoons, meerkats, and miniature groundhogs bring endless charm, while Angora giant rabbits, guinea pigs, Bama miniature pigs, squirrels, and chinchillas round out the impressive roster. The wide variety of cute creatures is sure to delight visitors of all ages.

Unlike static specimens or illustrated displays, the animal carnival emphasizes up-close viewing and hands-on interaction, making it an ideal destination for families and young visitors. Children can observe the behavioral traits of different species in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, broadening their understanding of the natural world and gaining a tangible appreciation for species diversity.

From July 11 to Aug 19, visitors are invited to the Guanshanhu Ecological Civilization Exhibition Hall in Guiyang to immerse themselves in the healing presence of these delightful creatures and experience, and understand the beauty of harmonious coexistence with nature through direct interaction.
