Guiyang's art center wins top intl architecture award

The 2026 Architizer A+Awards winners have been announced, and Guiyang's AYDC Public Art Center has secured two prestigious jury awards in the categories of "Architecture + Art" and "Architecture + Small Projects".

The art center features three sculptural structures – Xima Book Pavilion, Ginkgo Auditorium, and Dali Stage – which serve as venues for reading, performance, and meditation, respectively. According to Guo Jiayou, chief brand officer of AYDC Public Art Center, they correspond to water, sky, and twinkling starlight.

It advances a pioneering approach that maximizes site vitality while using minimal spatial resources. Through a sculptural and artistic intervention, it seamlessly intertwines built form, the natural landscape, and local cultural memory, redefining architecture as a vessel for experience, imagination, and community.
