In summer, the terraced fields in Shimen village, Gaopo Miao township, Huaxi district of Guiyang, usher in their most poetic season of the year. In the early morning or at dusk, sunlight gilds the terraces with a warm golden hue. The field ridges trace graceful curves, contrasting beautifully with the scattered white-walled, black-tiled houses.

In the distance, layered mountain ranges stretch into the horizon, while mist and clouds drift slowly through the peaks, making the pastoral scene as picturesque as a painting. Today, these terraced fields continue to serve grain production while becoming a popular eco-tourism destination on the outskirts of Guiyang.
