The train has 29 carriages and is carrying 261 EVs produced at Geely's production base in Guiyang. It will exit China via the Horgos Port in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and is expected to arrive at the Altynkol Port in Kazakhstan after approximately 15 days.

"The highlight of this train is the use of the JSQ specialized wagon, a special type of railway equipment operated by China Railway Special Cargo Logistics Co, commonly known as a 'cage wagon'," said Wang Hongxing, head of the marketing department of the Guiyang Railway Logistics Center under China Railway Chengdu Group Co.

Compared with traditional containers, the JSQ wagon features a double-deck, fully enclosed cage structure, offering advantages such as easy loading and unloading, large capacity, high efficiency, low cost, and enhanced vehicle protection. Vehicles can be driven directly on and off the wagon, simplifying operations. The wagon is also equipped with multiple fastening and protection devices to ensure safe and reliable transport.

"This train has improved our cargo transport efficiency and shortened the overall delivery cycle by five to seven days. It also offers high transport safety, reduces the risk of cargo damage, ensures stronger supply chain stability, and provides more reliable transport capacity," said Shang Yuewen, head of the Guiyang storage and transport department of the vehicle logistics division at Zhejiang Jisu Logistics Co, a subsidiary of Geely.

The successful departure of the Guizhou JSQ China-Central Asia freight train has opened a specialized cargo route from Guizhou to Central Asia. This will effectively reduce cross-border logistics costs for local enterprises, shorten cargo delivery cycles, and help bring "Made in Guizhou" products to Central Asia and other global markets.
