The newly upgraded Hydrangea Garden at Guizhou Plum Blossom Garden in Gui'an New Area opened to the public on May 15. Covering the hillsides in a breathtaking patchwork of blue, purple, pink, and white blooms, the garden has also introduced several sika deer that roam leisurely among the flowers, adding a touch of liveliness and romance to the early summer landscape.

This year, the main viewing area of the Hydrangea Garden has expanded from 600 mu (40 hectares) to 1,000 mu. The space is now divided into four zones for variety displays, themed landscapes, educational exhibits, and leisure experiences. The garden is home to more than 350,000 hydrangea plants in over 70 varieties. New companion plants such as impatiens balsamina, pampasgrass, and pink muhly grass have also been introduced, enriching the garden's visual layers.
Thanks to the many varieties and thoughtful layout, the hydrangea viewing season now lasts from May through October, offering "monthly blooms and seasonally changing scenery".
The garden currently features bigleaf hydrangeas in full bloom, while the Chinese snowball viburnums are expected to start flowering in early July. A new water feature is under construction and scheduled to open by early June, promising an even better experience for summer visitors.
Last year, the Hydrangea Garden received over 200,000 visits during flowering season. This year, ahead of the opening, the park had already sold over 15,000 early bird tickets through regular live-streamed broadcasts of the garden.
