This year's invitational tournament will welcome teams from five to 10 countries and regions, and feature new modern performance events, including a luminous kite competition that will light up the summer night sky. Baiyun district has long been known as the "Home of Kite Flying in West China", with a kite culture dating back to 1989. Since its relaunch in 2023, the kite festival has emerged as a "cultural tourism dark horse", driving consumption in the accommodation, dining, and retail sectors.

The main competition venue, Yunshang Camp, has been recognized as the largest professional kite venue in Southwest China, and the long-established view that "the north has Weifang, the south has Baiyun" has taken deep root among kite enthusiasts.

Currently, Baiyun district is accelerating the development of its "summer resort living" offerings. Long-term apartment rentals and distinctive homestay clusters are attracting tourists who flee the summer heat, creating an immersive experience that combines event viewing, homestays, and Guizhou cuisine tasting.
