The 2026 China's Top 100 Cities Index, independently compiled by urban research institution GYBrand, has been released, with Guiyang securing a place among the nation's second-tier cities.
As core spatial carriers of national economic and social development and key players in global competition, cities' improvements in comprehensive strength and core competitiveness directly reflect regional economic vitality and resilience. More importantly, they provide crucial support for the nation's capability leap amid the ongoing restructuring of global value chains.
This year's ranking covers 29 provinces and regions across China. The index is based on in-depth research across 10 core dimensions: economic strength, infrastructure, governance effectiveness, medical and educational resources, cultural exchange, business environment, development potential, innovation vitality, brand leadership, and international reputation. It comprehensively presents the latest practical achievements in high-quality development among China's top 100 cities.
