New cultural center opens in Guiyang

The Guiyang HGY Art Palace opened on Dec 31, featuring a rich array of cultural activities to welcome the New Year.

In collaboration with renowned local arts institutions, such as the Guizhou Song and Dance Theatre, the new cultural center presented a lineup of events, including the 2026 New Year Symphony Concert, cross-talk performances, comedy shows, interactive dramas, and drone shows.

Nearly 5,000 visitors and residents attended the performances on the opening day, celebrating the New Year together in a festive artistic atmosphere.

The cultural center has a floor area of approximately 100,000 square meters across 11 floors, four of which are open to the public. It integrates art exhibitions, displays of Guizhou intangible cultural heritage, premium commercial offerings, and a hotel.

Centered on viewing, dining, entertainment, and shopping, the venue features a curated selection of creative products, premium Maotai-flavor baijiu, specialty coffee, craft beer, gourmet dining, themed photo experiences, and exhibitions. It aims to create a new culture and tourism destination for the public, and contribute to the high‑quality development of the culture and tourism industries in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.

During the New Year holiday period, the cultural center also staged children's theater productions, such as Snow White and The Three Little Pigs, designed for families and providing both artistic and joyful experiences.
