The second CCF China Data Conference (ChinaData 2025) commenced in Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Dec 13.
Centered on the theme "Data Elements and China's Opportunities", the event gathered over 1,400 top scholars, industry experts, and enterprise representatives from China and abroad. At a critical juncture in deepening market-oriented reform of China's data elements, the conference serves as a high-level platform for collaboration among government, industry, academia, research, and application sectors.
At the conference, keynote presentations from eight academicians and eleven industry leaders representing prestigious institutions such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, and the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom were delivered.
More than 40 themed events, including main forums and specialized seminars, covered foundational topics like data governance and circulation security, as well as cutting-edge technologies such as vector databases, multimodal RAG, and scientific AI. Dedicated forums on vertical industries including fintech and agricultural data further demonstrated the potential of data to empower a wide range of sectors.
Gui'an had attracted 26 large-scale and above data (computing) centers by October this year. Super-large data centers operated by Huawei, Tencent, Apple, and others have been completed and put into operation, with total computing power exceeding 113 EFlops – over 98 percent of which is intelligent computing capacity. This reflects a well-established computing infrastructure ecosystem.
The conference has promoted the execution of Guizhou's big data strategy through academic dialogue and industry engagement, supporting the upgrade of the local digital industry ecosystem and talent development, and enabling data elements to fully unleash their value in Guiyang and Gui'an.
