Streets and alleys reshape Guiyang city life

This autumn, Guiyang's old streets and alleys are undergoing an elegant transformation, redefining the texture of urban life.

Minsheng Road

Minsheng Road bid farewell to vehicle traffic on Oct 26, pivoting to its new identity as a culinary paradise. What was once a key transit route has been transformed into a leisurely pedestrian space. Now, visitors no longer need to navigate traffic and can leisurely savor the flavors of each time-honored local establishment.

Caozhuangyuan Street

This 213-meter-long street, named after Cao Weicheng, who built his residence here and was Guizhou's only military scholar to take an imperial examination, began pedestrian-only management on Oct 15. The street is now being developed into a composite commercial block integrating cultural experiences, leisure consumption, and specialty markets.

Shidong Alley

A model for backstreet renovation, Shidong Alley is distinguished by its artistic graffiti. The once slightly shabby alley has now become a creative space popular among young people, affectionately called the "Art Museum in the Alley".

Taiping Road

Selected as a national typical case in urban regeneration, Taiping Road has adopted an innovative "EPC+F+O" model, revitalizing old walls, streets, and lanes for the modern era.

Qingyun Road

Evolving from a city thoroughfare built in 1927, Qingyun Road completed its upgrades and reopened as a national tourist and leisure block in July 2022. Its transformation is exemplary, preserving the original night market character while integrating modern, trendy elements.
