Guiyang launches Guizhou's first forest chief-themed park

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has transformed Changpoling National Forest Park into Guizhou's first forest chief–themed park, exploring innovative ways to combine ecological protection with public services.

The park has established a clear forest chief responsibility system, ensuring forest chiefs at all levels actively oversee resource protection, fire prevention, and pest control.

A 778,000 yuan smart forest farm project has upgraded digital management, improving efficiency and monitoring across the forest farm.

The park also sets a benchmark for nature education, with its Sino-German Guiyang Forest Experience Education Center and three themed zones – policy promotion, science education, and achievement display.

Fifteen educational programs have attracted over 1,200 student visits annually, and the park, hosting more than 250,000 tourist visits each year, has spurred over 30 nearby farmstay businesses, creating a win-win scenario for conservation and local livelihoods.
