In May, Chetian village in Huchao township, Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recognized as a National Civilized Village and Town.
Located at the intersection of the Sancha, Lengfan, and Chetian rivers, the village is rich in natural resources and features striking karst landscapes, a mild climate, and scenic beauty.

In recent years, Chetian has embraced the philosophy that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", transforming its ecological strengths into economic growth. From farm stays and riverboat tours to spring flower festivals and traditional-style landscaping, the village has steadily built a thriving "eco-economy".
Its collective income surpassed 900,000 yuan in 2022, 1 million yuan in 2023, and 1.2 million yuan in 2024.
"Our success comes from prioritizing the environment, integrating industries, and ensuring shared prosperity," said Zhang Zhongping, Party secretary of Chetian village. As the only national-level new area designated as a pilot zone for ecological civilization, Gui'an has served as a guiding model.
Chetian's commitment to preserving nature and promoting harmony between people and the environment has laid the foundation for its success in eco-tourism development and cultural-ethical advancement.
