As Guiyang's iconic cultural landmark, Jiaxiu Pavilion has stood gracefully on the banks of the Nanming River for more than 400 years since it was first built in 1598 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Its name conveys the wish that talented scholars would emerge and flourish. The elegant pavilion, with its vermilion beams and emerald-glazed tiles, is connected to Fuyu Bridge and complemented by Hanbi Pavilion, while nearby Cuiwei Garden adds to its timeless charm.

During the day, visitors can stroll among historic architecture and riverside scenery. At night, the illuminated pavilion reflects beautifully on the Nanming River, creating one of Guiyang's most photogenic views. As dusk falls, warm golden lights trace the outline of the ancient structure, and the illuminated arches of Fuyu Bridge resemble a string of moons reflected on the water. Here, centuries-old architecture blends seamlessly with the vibrant lights of the modern city, showcasing the unique charm of Guiyang's historic downtown.
