Tripolis delegation visits Guiyang to strengthen sister city ties

Eleni Karountzou, vice-mayor of Tripolis, Greece, led a delegation to Guiyang on Nov 20, marking a significant step toward strengthening sister-city relations between the two cities.

According to an official from the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office, this visit represented an important high-level interaction since the establishment of the sister-city relationship between Tripolis and Guiyang in 2024, aiming to consolidate friendship and advance practical cooperation.

In the morning, the delegation visited the Guiyang Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall to gain a comprehensive understanding of the city's development. In the afternoon, they explored the Qingyun Market to observe Guiyang's innovative approaches in promoting culture and tourism industries.

Karountzou held discussions with representatives from the Guiyang Bureau of Culture and Tourism and local enterprises, focusing on organizing cultural exchange activities and facilitating the entry of Guizhou's specialty products into the European market.

The delegation expressed admiration for Guiyang's rich ethnic cultural resources and dynamic tourism initiatives, and highlighted their expectation of achieving more substantive collaborative projects.
