Nanming supercomputing center empowers high-quality digital economy

The Guizhou branch of the National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou, located in the Asia-Pacific Center of Nanming district, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has injected new vitality into the high-quality development of the digital economy in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.

The Guizhou branch is a collaborative effort between the Nanming district government, Sun Yat-sen University, and Guizhou Chaoao Big Data Co.

It aims to integrate high-quality technological innovation resources from Guizhou province, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and across the nation to create a service platform for technological innovation, industrial transformation and upgrading, talent cultivation, and innovation and entrepreneurship incubation.

Between the signing of the agreement last August and its formal establishment earlier this year, partnerships have been forged with Guizhou Unicom, the Guizhou Science and Technology Museum, the Huangpu branch of the National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou, and Matrixport Asset Management Hong Kong Limited, with six ecological partner enterprises having now settled in.

The establishment of the Guizhou branch is a result of Nanming's planning efforts.

In recent years, Guizhou has deepened its exchanges and cooperation with Macao and established the Guizhou-Macao Deep Cooperation Work Team in 2022. Nanming district actively participated in the team's organization and engaged in a series of exchange activities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

After nine visits to Sun Yat-sen University, the cooperation direction was finally confirmed through joint efforts by the work team and Nanming district.

Leveraging the high-quality academic, computing, intellectual, and talent resources of Sun Yat-sen University's National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou, the Guizhou branch is currently focusing on several key initiatives and advancing the Guiyang-Gui'an Micro-Star Superintelligence Fusion Computing Center project.

It is also collaborating with the Sun Yat-sen University-Guizhou Chaoao Big Data and Digital Economy Development Joint Laboratory to conduct industry-academia research cooperation in corresponding fields, and promote the practical application of research results, and scale applications, aiding local enterprises in digital transformation and more.
