Li Duanfen's Tomb

Li Duanfen (1833-1907), a native of Guiyang city, achieved the title of jinshi (someone who passed all three examinations held by the ancient Chinese government) during the Tongzhi era in the Qing Dynasty and held positions such as xuezheng and shilang.

In the 22nd year of Emperor Guangxu's reign (1896), Li petitioned for the establishment of the Imperial University along with other schools in various provinces, as well as for the construction of libraries, music institutes, and translation bureaus. He also promoted the widespread establishment of newspapers, and the dispatch of students for overseas study.

In 2018, Li Duanfen's Tomb was included as part of the sixth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units.
