Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine's Guizhou Branch was recently approved as one of the 5th batch of national regional medical center projects.
It was stated in a document jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Health Commission, and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The Guizhou branch was jointly established by the People's Government of Guizhou Province and the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine on Feb 11 this year.
The hospital has a total planned bed capacity of 1,700. The Nanming campus is located on Huaxi Avenue in Nanming district.
It is designed with 900 beds and will be constructed in two phases. The first phase, consisting of 450 beds, is about to be used; the second phase, with 450 beds, is currently under construction.
According to the plan, the Guizhou branch aims to become a comprehensive national, regional medical center for traditional Chinese medicine within five years, filling the gaps in regional high-quality medical resources, promoting the overall medical service level in Guizhou province, and reducing the rate of patients seeking healthcare across provincial borders in the region by more than 30 percent.
