Nanming district has completed the construction of three large-scale garbage transfer stations.
They are the Hongyan, Bailang, and Jiaxiu South Road stations.
The original 28 garbage transfer stations in Nanming, primarily built in the 1990s, faced numerous challenges, such as outdated equipment, low efficiency, insufficient disposal capacity, scattered layout, and secondary pollution. Except for seven stations that used horizontal mobile compression equipment, the others relied on old-fashioned vertical or overhead crane systems, leading to inefficiencies and longer processing times.
To completely solve the problem of garbage transfer, in 2022, Nanming aimed to build an ecological and efficient collection and transfer system and constructed the newly-completed large-scale garbage transfer stations.
Gao Zhengkai from the environmental sanitation division of the Nanming comprehensive administration and law enforcement bureau, introduced "the existing garbage transfer stations in Nanming can dispose of over 1,200 metric tons of garbage per day, and can handle the transfer of domestic waste from 20 townships and sub-districts."
In addition to the three completed transfer stations, the relevant departments have also promoted the construction of wet waste treatment facilities by local conditions, Gao added.
The Xiaocaishen kitchen waste disposal project was successfully finalized and commenced operations in 2020. Subsequently, the kitchen waste disposal project in Yongle township was put into use in April 2023.
Moreover, Nanming is committed to furthering the professionalization of recycled resources. To achieve this, efforts will be made to establish and enhance a waste classification and recycling transportation system that is interconnected and facilitates resource sharing.
