New-type urbanization is currently making headway in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Nanming aims to develop itself into a district with a pleasant living environment, a sound business environment and a must-visit destination for tourists.

The relevant person in charge of the Nanming natural resources bureau revealed that Nanming is making plans to further enhance and optimize the district's development space on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of factors such as population distribution, economic layout, land use, and environmental protection.

The bureau has scientifically delineated arable land and permanent basic farmland, ecological protection red lines, and urban development boundaries.

The district plans to promote key areas such as the banks of the Nanming River, Jiaxiu Pavilion, Renmin Avenue, Huaguan Road, Huaxi Avenue, Shachong Road and Fuyuan Road.

It strives to create a new development model of modern urban core areas with complete urban functions, high-end and efficient industries, balanced public services, and a harmonious and livable environment.

It will also create 15 "15-minute living circles", add more than 4,800 parking spaces, and upgrade and renovate 17 farmers' markets.

Other plans include starting 10 shanty town comprehensive renovation projects and four old community renovation projects and upgrading 110 backstreets and alleys.

Moreover, Nanming will take actions to reduce water, soil and air pollution and advance the treatment of the Nanming River Basin.

Additionally, the district plans to boost the development of its building economy.

Nanming has already completed and put into use 96 office buildings, apartments and commercial buildings with a total construction area of 4.64 million square meters.

A total of 8,877 enterprises have opened in these buildings, providing more than 103,000 jobs.

Among them, there are 15 commercial buildings whose economic tax revenue has exceeded 100 million yuan ($15.01 million) for the first time this year.
