The efforts made to promote and improve the business environment in Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have paid off, with significant increases in the number of companies and projects currently based in the district.

In the first 10 months of this year, the district introduced 31 enterprises, four industrial projects, 11 headquarters economy projects and 17 digital economy projects.

The newly-introduced industrial projects have so far invested 10.12 billion yuan ($1.52 billion), with 98.73 percent of projects already under construction and 83.44 percent now online.

Among the key projects are Tencent Cloud (Guiyang) Digital Economy Industrial Base, the Guizhou Modern Chinese Medicine Application Innovation Industry Demonstration Base, and the Haematococcus and Astaxanthin Innovation Industry Demonstration Base, which has received investment from Shenzhen-based Zhongming Biology Group Co.

Since the beginning of this year, Nanming has established eight business promotion teams centering on industry, the digital economy (electronic information), healthcare, trade and logistics, cultural and sports tourism, urban renewal and modern finance.

The teams have visited a number of developed regions, including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, seeking fresh deals and opportunities. In total, they have visited 133 companies, invited 27 firms to Guizhou, signed 26 framework agreements and 14 formal contracts worth 3.67 billion yuan.

In addition, Nanming distributed 19.54 million yuan in industry support funds to provide financial support for settled enterprises and projects.
