Nanming releases 2021 development plan, goals

Nanming district – located in Guiyang, capital city of China's Southwest Guizhou province – recently set out its development plan and goals for the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

Under the plan, it will work diligently to expand its new industrialization and urbanization, tourism sector commercialization and agricultural modernization. The goals will be to achieve an improved industrial structure, streamlined infrastructure and full coverage of urban renewal, among other things.

Nanming plans to achieve certain economic index goals set over a one-year period. 

In 2021, the GDP of Nanming district is expected to exceed 100 billion ($15.42 billion), a year-on-year increase of around 11 percent.

The added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries in the current year will increase by an estimated 4 percent, while projections are for industrial added value to be up by 12.5 percent, the total output value of the construction industry to rise 13 percent and for investment in construction projects to gain 13.5 percent. 

Meanwhile, sales of wholesale products and retail products are expected to increase by 12 percent and 13 percent respectively in 2021, revenue of the accommodation industry and catering industry will both increase by 20 percent, and sales of commercial housing property is expected to increase by 13 percent.

Among the main economic indicators, investment in fixed assets is forecast to be up by 10 percent, and retail sales of consumer goods are to rise by 10 percent. 

In other projections, per capita GDP in Nanming is expected to increase by about 8.5 percent, the general public budget revenue is set to gain by more than 2 percent, while industrial investment is forecast to account for more than 22 percent of total fixed asset investment.

New industrial projects will have investment of 9.5 billion yuan ($150.04 million) in place in the current year, while a total of 110 industrial projects and 23 high-performance companies will transfer to the district.

In addition, Nanming's industry investment promotions index and its big data and real economy integration index will be seen remaining at the forefront of Guiyang city.

Finally, its ecological environment quality index, consolidation and expansion of its poverty alleviation efforts and the evaluation index for its rural revitalization performance are predicted to be higher than the city's average.
