Nanming district sees recovery in consumer spending

Total retail sales of consumer goods in Nanming district in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- hit 2.59 billion yuan ($381.95 million) in August, an increase of 30.5 percent year-on-year, according to local media reports on Sept 21.

The performance indicated that the district had achieved stable growth.

According to statistics, from January to August, total retail sales in the district came in at 16.49 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.6 percent and the growth rate was 3.7 percentage points higher than that from January to July.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic, Nanming district has introduced policies and measures to support the steady development of its business.

At the same time it has deployed various assistance funds, making every effort to promote the recovery in consumer spending and its logistics industry.

Next, the district plans to continue planning and organizing various promotional activities.

It will also roll out a number of subsidies for businesses and firms, as well as promote commerce and trade, tourism and other industries.

And it will move to restore and boost spending and help establish the stable and healthy development of the city's economy.
