The 6th "Dongjiu Cup" Guizhou martial arts competition commenced on Nov 1 in Qingzhen, the hometown of Chinese martial arts. The event brought together over 900 athletes representing 43 teams from across the country.
The competition was organized by the Guiyang municipal bureau of sports and the Qingzhen municipal people's government, featuring six main categories: boxing routines, weapons, tai chi, tai chi weapons, sparring, and group martial arts. These were further divided into over 100 sub-categories to cover martial arts practitioners of all age groups.

Over the two-day event, athletes demonstrated remarkable skills across multiple disciplines, showcasing the charm of Chinese martial arts. Awards were presented for first, second, and third places in individual, sparring, and group categories.
Additionally, the competition included special awards, including the Chinese Martial Arts Inheritor Award, Sportsmanship Award, Outstanding Coach, Outstanding Martial Arts School, Martial Arts Promotion Award, and Martial Arts Contribution Award.

Qingzhen has integrated sports with its leisure industry and leveraged martial arts to enhance its sports tourism brand, promoting public fitness. The city now boasts 3.05 square meters of per capita sports area and has achieved full coverage of public sports facilities.
These efforts to promote martial arts have garnered full recognition, including prestigious awards such as the National Outstanding Contribution Award for Tai Chi Promotion and the National Hometown of Martial Arts.
