Qiaosong Garden, a pocket park featuring a Song Dynasty (960-1279) garden style in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, opened to the public on Aug 20.

The park is located at the intersection of Bihai South Road and Xingzhu Road.

Since March this year, the urban gardening and greening construction management office of Guanshanhu has responded to the needs of the public by visiting and soliciting opinions from residents in the area.

The pocket park was created after several months of work.

A pocket park is characterized by its small scale, nearby location and dynamic space. Since the initiation of the "city of 1,000 parks" initiative in 2015, Guiyang has been promoting the construction of pocket parks, with over 100 already established.

The dream of "seeing green within 300 meters and a park within 500 meters" for residents is gradually being realized.

The opening of Qiaosong Garden has improved the living environment of nearby residents, providing them with a new place to relax and unwind. It is also a new initiative in the urban gardening and greening construction of Guanshanhu.

Nearby residents said that the pocket park not only provides them with a great place for leisure and exercise, but also adds some beautiful scenery to the city.

The urban gardening and greening construction management office of Guanshanhu will continue to focus on residents' needs, and transform roads, residential areas, street corners and other idle spaces to achieve the vision of experiencing greenery at every step and beautiful scenery in every direction.
