Zhang Shengming's Pig Farm began to accelerate the development of its manure utilization project in 2023. With the support of the local government, they constructed facilities such as manure settling tanks and dry manure accumulation sheds to effectively address issues related to direct discharge of manure and open-air manure stacking.
In recent years, in order to promote the green and sustainable development of the livestock industry, Zhanjie town in Qingzhen, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, established a specialized service team for the utilization of manure resources. The team has further improved livestock and poultry manure treatment facilities and equipment, and promoted techniques for harmless fertilizer treatment. This includes organic fertilizer processing, rain and sewage diversion, integrated farming, and biogas fermentation.
These techniques strengthened the comprehensive utilization of the region's manure resources, accelerated the upgrading of the livestock and poultry industry, and achieved a circular development model through integrated farming. Additionally, the town has set up a long-term supervision mechanism for such projects.
As of now, nine households have completed construction on manure utilization projects, with a total investment of 607,180 yuan ($84,580.17). This includes 303,590 yuan in financial subsidies and 303,590 yuan in self-raised funds by the owners. The construction includes 290 square meters of dry manure accumulation sheds, 948 cubic meters of manure settling tanks, two solid-liquid separators, 400 meters of rain and sewage diversion ditches, and five pumping units.
