Street concert gains popularity in Qingzhen

A Guizhou street concert unfolded on Jan 17 in Xindian town of Qingzhen city, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The concert invited Qingzhen locals who make a living outside Guizhou to spend the Spring Festival in their hometown, and was greeted with applause from the residents.

The street concert enabled residents to immerse themselves in cultural activities without traveling far. The activity also integrated quizzes about illegal fund-raising, safety, and drug control, with relevant pamphlets available for the locals to take home. In addition, Spring Festival couplets were written and given as gifts to people watching the performances.

Qingzhen had held seven such street concerts throughout 2023. The government plans to organize such activities twice a month in 2024, and will continue to encourage public participation.
