Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been working to ensure the even distribution of high-quality educational resources.
For example, the government has carried out the identification of students who are struggling to pay for their tuition. These students can now enjoy a green channel that enables them to receive their school education for free.
Financial assistance policies for students have been popularized through household interviews, parents' meetings and schools' WeChat accounts.
So far, Qingzhen has allocated 7.81 million yuan ($1.09 million) for their financial aid, benefiting 14,000 pupils.
The students' meal quality improvement campaign is also ongoing. Schools have signed contracts with local farmers, and the majority of materials used in school canteens are produced locally, boosting Guiyang's rural vitalization.
Qingzhen has now procured 3,664.86 metric tons of local farm produce valued at 42.22 million yuan.
A total of 20 educational programs have also been implemented, adding 13,335 new slots for those wishing to study, recruiting 590 teachers, and preventing the misappropriation of educational funds.
