The No 004 county highway in Xindian town, Qingzhen city, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, is an important transportation route, and most residents live along both sides of the highway.
In the past, the management of the stalls on both sides of the county highway could have been more disorderly, and the environment could have been better. Motorcycle taxis and agricultural tricycles would park on the road at will, leaving a wrong impression on passing travelers.

The living conditions of the nearby residents could have been better. To address this issue, Xindian town initiated the renovation of livable rural houses in Yachihe village in April this year, with an investment of 2 million yuan ($386,800), focusing on improving the living environment along the 004 county highway, enhancing the streetscape, and creating a comfortable living space for the residents.
By October this year, the renovation of livable rural houses involving 116 households had been completed. The results were remarkable.
Flower beds, sinks, mop pools, and drainage ditches have been built in front of and behind the houses. The facades of the houses have been beautified with various wall paintings. An unmanaged junkyard has been transformed into a convenient rest stop where tricycles, motorcycles, and town buses can park in an orderly manner. An unused open space has become a leisure and fitness plaza, becoming a popular place for residents to relax after meals.
