Trial for world university cycling championship held in Qingzhen

The Chinese mountain cyclist trial of the 2024 World University Cycling Championship was held in Qingzhen city, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 14, attracting 202 college students from 32 universities throughout China.

The event was organized by the Department of Education of Guizhou Province and Guizhou Bureau of Sports.

The competition officially began at 9:30 am after a grand opening ceremony. There were five sporting events – an Olympic cross-country race, an individual time trial, a team event, and a cross-country knock-out match.

The track was set in a hilly region, including steep climbs, jumps, S-turns, U-turns, and other technical points.

Guizhou is a province known for its mountainous outdoor sports, and mountain biking is a popular sport in the province with significant investment and achievements in recent years.
