In September, at the grape base of Guizhou Zhilian Agricultural Technology Co in Qingzhen city, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, rows of grape vines are neatly arranged and clusters of crystal-clear grapes hang from branches.

"The grape base has entered its first harvest season, with a yield of about 300,000 kilograms and an output value of nearly 6 million yuan ($835,800). We have achieved a strong harvest and grapes are being transported to first-tier cities for sale every day," said Wang Longbang, the grape base's technical director.

The company set up operations in Qingzhen in 2017, and the city developed ecological agriculture in Ludishao village. Under the modern "company + cooperative + farmer" agricultural operation model, four high-quality grape varieties are grown in the village, which have been well received on the market.

"The natural environment here is quite conducive for growing grapes, including the water quality, weather, temperature and soil," said Wang Longbang.

Both agriculture and tourism are flourishing in the village. Since the end of July, people in Guiyang have been visiting the base to buy grapes. The average daily retail sales at the base alone can exceed 10,000 yuan.
