The National College Entrance Examination (also known as Gaokao) kicked off in China on June 7. This year, the candidate number for the exam in Qingzhen, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, came in at 4,245.
Local government agencies have made concerted efforts to ensure a safe, stable, and quiet environment for all the examinees.
On June 5, Qingzhen's market supervision bureau inspected hotels for examinees, test sites, and their surrounding areas to ensure that all the food, equipment, and products used during the examination were safe.
Restaurants and school canteens have been checked out carefully regarding food material procurement, food storage, food processing methods, and kitchen environments. Owners were urged to shoulder their responsibilities in food and drinking safety.
Qingzhen's comprehensive law enforcement bureau proposed booths and stores along the street that they take control of the noises they make and persuaded residents to stop the square dance and other such activities. The construction sites had to stop their work before and during the examination.
