Qingzhen in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has rolled out a 100-day campaign to improve the city's transportation, which will facilitate its target of making itself a more civilized city.

The campaign began in the second half of April, and will wrap up by the end of July.

The campaign will focus on three areas – pedestrians, vehicles and roads. Pedestrians who cross roads without using zebra crossings, disobey traffic lights, or cross guardrails will be educated and punished.

Drivers who get drunk, take drugs, or park illegally will also be fined.

Efforts will also be made to identify and change any damaged traffic signs and other road infrastructure.

Illegal behavior that has a detrimental impact on traffic will be relayed to official local news media, such as WeChat accounts, Douyin, TV programs, and broadcasting stations.
