Tourism flourishes in Qingzhen

Statistics show that last year, Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, received 8.4 million tourists, and registered a tourism revenue of 8.33 billion yuan ($1.21 billion), ranking fifth in Guiyang.

Meanwhile, about 1.13 million travelers stayed overnight in Qingzhen, a year-on-year increase of 23.22 percent. On average, each tourist spent 1,011.14 yuan in the city, indicating an increase of 11.02 percent.

This year, the Qingzhen government plans to renovate 40 rural homestays, promote their standardized development, combine sports with tourism by holding half marathons, youth martial competitions and cycling races, and cultivate its night-time economy.

Meanwhile, 20 culture and sports project reserves will be established, worth above 6 billion yuan in total. Additionally, Qingzhen plans to ink more than 10 cultural and tourism project agreements this year, accelerating its tourism and cultural development.
