Five experts from the Chinese Academy of Natural Resources Economics (CANRE) were invited to Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province on Feb 28 to provide suggestions on mine governance and restoration.
After local government officials in charge of natural resources elaborated on Qingzhen's existing problems in the mining industry, Yuan Guohua, an expert from CANRE, delivered a speech, discussing the direction that local mining should take.
Officials and experts then conducted on-site visits to several local mines and exchanged opinions on the comprehensive utilization of waste gas, waste water and industrial residue, as well as the restoration and protection of abandoned mines.
