Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, will continue to put its focus on businesses, culture, tourism and rural work, and unleash consumption potential through market player cultivation, products promoting, and tourism campaigns, according to a press release held by the government on Aug 3.
Qingzhen is the only place in Guiyang to be approved as a provincial-level business system demonstration county. During the first half of this year, the city held a New Year shopping festival, a faculty group shopping activity and other similar activities, attracting the online and offline participation of more than 500 business operators. The government has also issued 20,000 coupons, as well as 100,000 vouchers released by enterprises, attracting 6 million visits and generating 620 million yuan ($91.45 million) in revenue from consumption.
Over the first six months of 2022, Qingzhen reported 5.54 billion yuan in total retail sales of consumer goods, up 1.8 percent year-on-year, 2.3 percentage points higher than the provincial average and ranking sixth in Guiyang.
Moving forward, the Qingzhen bureau of commerce will launch a shopping campaign entitled "Cool Guiyang, Lake City Qingzhen", and will mainly focus on the Fifth Guizhou (Qingzhen) Food Culture Season, which will run from August to October.
In addition, the city will allocate 10.26 million yuan in funds to assist local tourism market players and subsidize hotels above a designated size and scenic areas with more than 14 million yuan.
From January to June, Qingzhen received 5.03 million tourist visits and generated 4.83 billion yuan in comprehensive tourism revenue.
To boost agriculture, the city will consistently promote large-scale agriculture, launch special industry training sessions for farmers, and create themed bases.
