A week-long food security campaign was unveiled in Qingzhen, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 26, participated in by 11 government departments responsible for market regulation, agriculture and rural affairs, education, healthcare, transportation, and law enforcement, as well as three local food manufacturers. The campaign ran through July 29.
Staff members handed out brochures on wild edible fungi poisoning, functional food fraud, and the prevention and control of food-related diseases in summer and autumn in order to strengthen locals' food security awareness. The campaign also offered free consultations for residents.
In addition, the government launched related promotional activities in schools, communities, towns and villages, enterprises and construction sites to teach targeted groups about food security.
