Qingzhen city in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been focusing on increasing its local employment rate in several ways.
The city seeks to help residents acquire more practical skills, especially those involved in Qingzhen's special fruit industry (including the planting and sale of grapes, kiwi fruit and plums), and has arranged professional training centered around practical planting skills and animal disease prevention and control.
So far, these training sessions have been participated by 1,173 people, including 690 students from professional schools and higher education institutions. A total of 627 people managed to find jobs through recruitment fairs, position recommendations, and the export of labor services.
The Qingzhen government has also launched relevant courses on aluminum processing and the production of cases and bags. There are 76 people receiving new apprenticeship training and 68 people receiving embroidery and tourist reception training.
With the goal of developing emerging businesses, the government has also organized vocational training sessions on household management, elderly care and nursery teaching.
In addition, Qingzhen has also provided aid to potential entrepreneurs. Since the beginning of this year, about 810 people have joined relevant entrepreneurship training courses. The government has also rolled out special allowances and subsidies for new entrepreneurs and helped them earn 32.2 million yuan in start-up guarantee loans.
