Relying on its unique ecological resources, diverse agricultural sectors, and profound culture, Hongfenghu town in Qingzhen city, Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been trying to create a national agricultural park that balances ecological protection with economic development.

The urban-rural water supply network now covers more than 94 percent of the city's area, and drinking water for residents is 100 percent safe, with 134 sets of sewage processing facilities being put into operation.

About 1,400 hectares of destroyed vegetation on mines have been restored, and the forest coverage rate of the city has reached 51.46 percent, 6 percentage points higher than in 2016.

The processing time for administrative licensing items in 34 government departments of the city has been reduced by 85 percent. There are currently 54,600 market entities in Qingzhen, up 130 percent over 2016.

The government's expenditures on welfare programs have reached 14.8 billion yuan, accounting for about 76 percent of its total spending. Meanwhile, 97,700 people have found jobs and 35,100 rural laborers have found employment in urban areas of Qingzhen.
